Connect your Agents to Slack

Here's a quick guide on how to connect CodeGPT to Slack and use your AI Agents in your workspace!

Updated over a month ago

Enjoy the benefits of having you AI Agents at a hand in your Slack Workspaces!

Key Points to Remember for Connecting Slack Workspaces to CodeGPT

  • Multiple Workspaces: You can connect as many Slack workspaces as you want to your CodeGPT organization.

  • Single Agent per Workspace: You can connect a specific agent to all channels in a Slack workspace, but you cannot connect different agents to different channels within the same workspace.

  • One Organization per Workspace: A Slack workspace can only be connected to one organization at a time. To connect the same workspace to a different organization, you must first remove the existing connection.

  • Permission Management: If someone else with access to your Slack workspace tries to connect it to their organization, they must first remove the existing connection.

How to connect your Agents to Slack

Go to the Applications section in CodeGPT's Studio or follow this link: Here!

  • Select Slack AI Agent.

  • Click on + Connect a new workspace.

  • Log in and select your desired Workspace (you can find a dropdown on the Right-Upper corner)

  • Select the channel you want your AI Agent to post to as an app.

  • Click on Allow.

  • And that's it! Now you can configure which agent you would like to have in your Workspace and in which channels by going to the Applications section again.

To interact with your Agent in Slack simply click on CodeGPT bot, then Go to App, and go to the Messages Section, try with a Hi test!.
